Castilla-La Mancha is one of the regions in Spain where the Aerospace Sector is most widely represented; some of the most important companies in the aerospace sector conduct operations here and moreover these generate and attract business for supporting industries. The principal companies are:
- Airbus in Illescas, leading the composites industry.
- Eurocopter in Albacete, attracting the aviation industry.
For this reason Castilla-La Mancha has the fourth-highest income from aeronautics of all the regions in Spain. In fact, approximately 10% of all carbon fibre used in the aeronautics industry is produced in Castilla-La Mancha and the Eurocopter Assembly Plant in Albacete is one of the largest in Europe.
The essential structure of the industry centres around two locations in Castilla-La Mancha: Albacete and Illescas. Both sites have the capacity to accommodate anciliary and representative companies, both offering industrial land at a competitive price and innumerable other advantages.
Albacete has an airport, beside which is situated the Albacete Aeronautics and Logistics Park (Parque Aeronáutico y Logístico de Albacete) and in Illescas, Illescas Advanced Composite Technology Park (Parque Tecnológico de Tecnología Avanzada de Composites (ITAP)), is situated adjacent to the Airbus plant; an excellent location for the establishment of related anciliary companies.
